We are excited to roll out the NIH Research & Consulting (NIHR) Monthly Staff Feature! This month we’re featuring Venus Powers, Director of Project Management. We welcomed Venus to our team 5 ½ years ago and she is an integral part of our success.

Why are you passionate about the Healthcare Industry?

I’m very close to the industry because I have an extensive background on both sides, as a caretaker and in the technology sector. My corporate experience is in technology and telecommunications. I’ve worked for large tech companies for over 20 years. Being able to work in the healthcare industry and assist in providing the best level of care to the next person by implementing technology that will enable a patient’s life to be saved is very rewarding.

What do you enjoy most about working with NIH Research & Consulting clients?

NIHR is an honest, reputable, upstanding company and we only work with clients that have the same level of integrity. Our clients have a stellar reputation and value our resources. They work with us to maximize the strategies we implement to further improve their marketing and sales campaigns which in turn improve the healthcare industry. Due to our exceptional ROI, we receive a lot of referrals and repeat clients. Many C-Level executives take us with them to new roles at other companies.

What do you like most about the NIHR culture?

NIHR has the professionalism of a Fortune 500 company with the high-quality customer service of a boutique firm. We’re a closely knit team of educated, skilled professionals and we work synergistically for maximum performance. We provide custom, tailored campaigns to our clients and one-on-one consulting. I received a promotion to Director of Project Management very rapidly, which speaks to the NIHR company culture on staff recognition. In my 20 years of experience working with large technology companies, I am honored to work at NIHR. I’ve never seen a company managed this way, so flexible and so structured at the same time. NIHR’s 25 years of excellence, reputation, numerous repeat clients and testimonials speak volumes.

What is your biggest business strength?

As Director of Project Management at NIHR, I play an important role in improving the backside of the hospital where all the nuts and bolts are structured. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, a career spanning 20 years in the technology sector, and a wealth of knowledge in the healthcare industry from a technological standpoint and from the patient’s perspective.

“Venus is a tremendous asset to our team. She takes direction well and simultaneously offers high level feedback for overall performance improvement. She’s a soldier and a general which is so rare. Her extensive knowledge of the multi-layered, complex healthcare industry is valuable to all who benefit from her work. She strategizes with our customers and quickly assesses their needs. Venus also plays an important executive role in hiring and training new consultants, implementing new processes, best practices, and campaign management. You can depend on Venus to consistently overdeliver. We appreciate this intelligent woman for the professional leader, team player, mother and friend that she is!” – Robin Day & Cindy Kanstoroom, Managing Partners, NIH Research & Consulting
