This month’s NIH Research & Consulting Staff Feature is on Carin Hanan! We welcomed Carin to our team over 18 years ago and have celebrated numerous successes along the way with her dedication and expertise. Carin has produced tremendous results and managed projects in every area in which NIHR excels including HIS, Best of Breed Solutions, EMR, Revenue Cycle focused solutions and numerous other solutions related to hardware, software and consulting applicable to the healthcare arena. Carin’s experience with a wide array of NIHR clients and, more importantly, being at the “front lines” of the prospect market, makes her an invaluable member to our team!
How long have you worked with the NIH Research & Consulting Team?
Why are you passionate about the Healthcare Industry?
Everyone relies on healthcare, we all need it! I also love the industry because it is so dynamic. With healthcare being in the news so much of late, it’s exciting to be part of it instead of just reading about it… it’s as if we are the newsmakers!
What do you enjoy most about working with NIH Research & Consulting clients?
At NIHR, we work with client teams who are at the forefront of new developments in healthcare. I’m proud to be a part of the ever-changing environment. I enjoy the challenge of working with new people on new products and learning everything I need to know to exceed expectations across the board.
What do you like most about the NIHR culture?
We have tremendous synergy at NIHR and we all work as teams for the greater good of project and campaign ROI. I’ve developed strong and lasting friendships based on respect among my co-workers. The family-first philosophy has allowed me time to spend with my family and I appreciate the work-life balance.
What do you think is your biggest business strength?
With 18 years of experience, I have a wide expanse of experience across a variety of campaigns and various types of clients. I know how to engage effectively with prospects and create interest in my product that might not have otherwise been there. I know how to advise my clients as to what will be desirable in the marketplace and about the latest and greatest features and benefits that prospects seek. I truly value my work and client success. I’m proud that customers come back and ask for me time and time again.

What are some successes or milestones you’ve achieved at NIH Research & Consulting?
I have worked with every kind of client and every type of project we have, from best-of-breed solutions to clinical solutions to finance solutions to becoming the company’s face for CMS Regulations. Of late, I have specialized in CMS Campaigns surrounding MACRA and MIPS legislation. I have become a de-facto subject matter expert and have been trained by the leading experts on Quality Payment Programs. I’m Net Promoter® Certified, so I also specialize in customer satisfaction surveys and competitive analyses which truly advance both NIHR and our clients. I love to train new consultants and teach them the NIHR way.
